Lab 2: Investigating the Bat / Human Problem

This Lab was conducted in Sydney in partnership with the UTS Participatory Design Conference and UTS. The lab examined the Bat-Human interface/relationship – in light of the forthcoming relocation of 22,000 vulnerable flying foxes from the Royal Botanical Gardens Sydney.

The Sydney Lab was a key part of a two-year long project called the REMNANT/EMERGENCY Artlab – supported by the Australia Council for the Arts InterArts Panel, in collaboration with UTS, QUT, The Edge, the Participatory Design Conference (PDC 2010) and many others.

For more details see the 'Botanical Gardens X-tension' website, and please use links on the right. The lab was further informed by a pre-discussion between lead artists Tony Fry and Natalie Jeremijenko. See the full debate here.
